Manchester United may be able to clinch the signing of Dutch midfielder Wesley Sneijder on a free as he prepares to become a free agent in January because of an unpaid wages row by Turkish club Galatasaray.
The Premier League club have been linked with Sneijder during the past couple of seasons, even before he clinched a move to Turkey after leaving Inter Milan in 2013.
The move has never been more likely, though, as Sneijder looks set to leave Galatasaray on a free after he revealed the club were failing to pay him his wages, the Metroreports.
With Louis van Gaal now United manager the move could be pushed in January, a coup that would see the 2010 World Cup finalist make the move to Old Trafford for nothing.
United have already splashed out £150million since van Gaal’s arrival but more is expected to be spent in January as they look to close the gap to Chelsea at the top of the Premier League table.
