The Nigerian military on Wednesday said it repelled a terrorist attack in Biu, a town in Borno State.
Gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram members had attacked the town, which is the largest in southern Borno, with the aim of capturing it.
The Defence Headquarters, DHQ, which confirmed the attack through its official twitter handle, @DefenceInfoNG, said “Troops in pursuit of fleeing terrorists as mopping up operation is ongoing. Five (5) terrorists have so far been captured”.
The DHQ said it also recovered two anti-aircraft guns from the terrorists.
