A worker trapped by Saturday's deadly earthquake in Nepal has been rescued after spending five days in the quake-damaged hotel in which she worked.
Sniffer dogs detected her presence early Thursday.
A 37-strong Norwegian search and rescue team responded, and after an eight-hour effort, the 24-year-old woman was rescued.
She was breathing and had her eyes open when she was removed from the hotel in central Kathmandu, and rescuers said she would survive.
She was found on the ground floor of the seven-story building, rescuers said.
A magnitude-7.8 earthquake devastated Nepal on Saturday, killing more than 5,500 people and injuring many more.
The United Nations has said the quake has affected 8 million people across 39 districts.
