ISIS extremists made a push farther east of the Iraqi city of Ramadi late Monday into Tuesday, launching small-scale attacks on Iraqi security forces and Sunni tribesmen positions on the outskirts of al-Khalidiya, a security official in al-Khalidiya and two witnesses.
The security forces and Sunni tribesmen have pushed the ISIS militants back, but sporadic attacks are ongoing, the sources said Tuesday. Al-Khalidiya is between the cities of Ramadi and Falluja, both of which ISIS controls.
