Couple Who Met Through Dating Website Learn They Are Brother And Sister

A man and woman met on a dating website and began flirting with each other only to learn that they are siblings.

    More:
The strange situation developed when Erik de Vries, 24, and Josephine Egberts, 22, began chatting on the popular dating website, Tinder.

Erik said that the more the woman spoke about her background the weirder things got and he soon began to wonder if the love interest was actually his long lost sister.

The siblings had not seen each other for 16 years since their parents separated.

Erik and his brother, moved to Belgium with her dad and Josephine stayed in Holland with her mother – and the two completely lost contact.

When Erik decided to return to Holland earlier this year, he used Tinder to find love.

Erik and Josephine got along well at first, but after learning details about her past, he began to be uncomfortable.

When Josephine said that she lost contact with her twin brothers Maarten, Erik knew that she was indeed his sister.

After more conversation, they found out that they were brother and sister.

The siblings were overjoyed to meet each other in person after not seeing each other for 16 years.

Erik admitted that when he realized that he flirted with his own sister “it is a little embarrassing.”

The two were brought together for a family portrait by the Dutch dating site, along with her twin brother Maarten.
