Vehicular movement restriction in Lagos State may be extended from 6p.m. to 8p.m. at the governorship and House of Assembly elections, AIG Joseph Mbu has said.<--More--!> Mbu, who is in-charge of Zone 2 comprising Lagos and Ogun States, told newsmen on Saturday when he visited Mr Akin Orebiyi, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Lagos. The Inspector-General of Police, Mr Suleiman Abba, had on Thursday announced the restriction of vehicular movement from 8a.m. to 5p.m. nationwide. The AIG explained that the extension would be limited to Lagos State, saying the extension was to facilitate the smooth conduct of the elections. “Lagos is not like other states; it is a peculiar state. Last time, I had to extend the restriction time from 6p.m. to 7p.m. “It is most likely that we would have to extend it to 8p.m. (today) Saturday. “Therefore, those involved should be on the alert so that we don’t start having crisis. “We have to give this election all that it takes to ensure that it is peaceful”, he said. Mbu said that the visit was to make the April 11 elections more successful than the March 28 elections. NAN reports that the AIG inspected all logistics of police operations on ground at INEC state office in Yaba to ensure their functionality.
