Yoruba people residing in the capital city of Borno state, Maiduguri, donated relief materials to internally displaced persons. The action took place on September 23, 2014, Tuesday and was aimed at people who have left their homes following endless attacks by Boko Haram fighters in the state.
According to SaharaReporters, the Yoruba community was led by the Mia (Oba) of Yoruba residents in Borno, Alhaji Hassan Yusuf Alao. Several other stakeholders of the community at the NYSC orientation have also joined the Oba.

He said the Yoruba community shows solidarity with the displaced people by donating relief materials, which should help to ease the hardships they have been facing. “We feel the pain of the displaced people. That is why we decided to present this token as our own contribution to assist the people. It is not this little gift that matters but the spirit behind it.
