Former France footballer Zinedine Zidane has been banned from coaching for three month because he took over the coaching job of a team without having necessary qualifications.
The former World Cup winner was appointed coach of Real Madrid Castilla, the European champions’ reserve team, in the summer.
But the Spanish Football Federation has banned him for leading the side, while his assistant Santiago Sanchez has also received a three-month ban.
Real have, however, declared “absolute disagreement” with the decision.
The Santiago Bernebeu club said in a statement: “(Zidane) has been authorised by the French Football Federation to work as a head coach in the category Real Madrid Castilla currently find themselves in.
“Real Madrid will pursue every available legal avenue so that this decision is overturned.”

Zidane, who spent five seasons with Real as a player after arriving from Juventus for a then club record fee in 2001, served as assistant to Carlo Ancelotti last season en route to a tenth European Cup triumph in Lisbon.
He scored the winner as Real beat Bayer Leverkusen to win the Champions League in 2002, and was named World Footballer of the Year for a third time in 2003, having received the award in 1998 and 2000.
He worked as an adviser to Real President Fiorentino Perez before he was named the ‘Los Merengues’’ sporting director in 2011.
