    Goodluck Jonathan

EROWHA – FORMER Minister of Police Affairs, Alaowei Broderick Bozimo, has said that Nigerians will value President Goodluck Jonathan later for his love and sacrifice for the country, insisting that the outgoing president is a hero.

Bozimo made the statement at Erhowha in Isoko South Local Government Council of Delta State weekend during the burial of his late father in-law, Chief Ezekiel Ukodie.

Bozimo also said that it was wrong to blame the spate of insecurity in Nigeria on exhibition of lack of courage or selfish political considerations by President Goodluck Jonathan.

The former minister on the issue of Boko Haram asserted that nobody could state with certainty what was the genesis of Boko Haram just like the root cause of ISIS and other terrorist groups.

Bozimo said that it could not also be rightly said that economic reasons such as unemployment were the cause of the religious fanaticism and the related reign of violence in Nigeria and other parts of the world.

“You can see what is happening all over the world. I doubt if it is because of economic circumstances. I don’t subscribe to that.” According to him, “When I left (as Police Affairs Minister) in 2007 Boko Haram has just started rearing its ugly head. They were coming in from the Borno axis and I visited there; they burnt down police stations.

“We thought it wasn’t anything serious or that it was a passing thing, we did the best we could to arrest the situation. So, I don’t think it’s unemployment.”
